Fast-rising singer, Edward Rasheed Smith popularly known as Eddie Smith aka WDT, has shared the inspiration behind his songs and pen game.
The talented act has released several records including ‘Love&Loyalty’ 2019, ‘Lagos’ February 2020, ‘Freaky pappy’ April 2020, ‘Don’t leave Me’ July 2020, ‘TùLE’ February 2021 and ‘Plenty” February 2022; he describes his genre as ‘Afro Pop’ with its own sub-genre sound called ‘Talkative sound’.Disclosing his mentor’s in the music industry he listed Burna Boy, Davido and Wizkid locally; and Internationally he mentioned Kanye West, Jayz and Kendrick Lamar.
Eddie Smith, born and raised in Surulere, Lagos; was a former University of Lagos student, he was studying Marine Biology but later dropped out of school due to personal reasons and went ahead to further his music career which also lead him to become a sound engineer and finding his sound in the ever-competitive music industry.
